Top Rung™ Game Play
Top Rung Game Play: (Play Online Now!)
The Top Rung Player places a wager (bet) on any one, two, three or even all four of the four suit positions on the bottom of the Player field spot, he may also bet on the color of the card to be dealt by placing a wager in one or both of the red or black color spots on the bottom of the Player field spot. The Dealer then flips a single card for play in the Ladder Card area, designated on the table, in front of the Dealer.
The Dealer then collects any unsuccessfully selected (mismatched) wagers.
If the Player or Player's wager has successfully selected (matched) the color or suit on the dealt Ladder card, the Dealer then moves the wager up into the ladder climb area, paying the appropriate color or suit odds designated for that rung.
The Player or Player's wager is now on the ladder and ready to climb the rungs of the ladder at increasing odds. (Your quest as Player is to match the dealt Ladder card with your bets or bet markers and reach the Top Rung).
Dealing The Game:
All players upon sitting at the table will be given a TOP RUNG BET MARKER to use during game play.
- At the beginning of each game round or rung, the Dealer will allow all seated players to place all wagers or Bet Markers before any cards are dealt.
- Once all players have placed their wagers or bet markers, in the appropriate areas, the Dealer will use their arm/hand and make a passing motion over the table and call out “No more bets”.
- The Dealer will then deal a card to the Ladder Card area marked on the gaming felt in front of the dealer.
- Then the Dealer will settle each player's wagers, moving from right to left on the table.
- The first player's losing bets (if any) will be collected by the Dealer and put into the tray.
- All winning bets on the lower Player Bet Area (if any) will be paid 1st Rung odds by the Dealer and moved up to the Ladder Climb Area.
- All winning suit/color bets in the Ladder Climb Area, will be paid off according to the payout ladder odds and then handed off to the player's area by the Dealer, leaving the player's initial winning wagers on the suit/color Ladder Climb Area. Note: All winning wagers will be paid DOUBLE odds when the Dealer turns up an ACE in the Ladder Card area.
- The Dealer will then repeat the same procedures for the next player and all other players seated at the table.
- After the Ladder Card has been dealt and all the player's wagers have been paid or collected accordingly, the Dealer will call out “place your Bets and Bet Markers" with that, any New Round Players can now place new Bets on the 1st Rung, also bets on the ladder climb area are called Mid Round bets. All eligible Players with Mid Round bets use their TOP RUNG BET MARKER to make their decisions (see below). Special note: Players with Mid Round bets will place their Bet Marker on the Suit circle of their choice, which will designate their Suit and Color choice. (I.e. placing the Bet Marker on Spades also designates that the player is choosing Black). Also, for example, if a player has both a Suit and a Color bet alive in the ladder climb area and chooses Spades and the next card is a Club, they will lose their Suit bet, but win their Color bet and are still alive for the next Rungs color wager.
- After all eligible players have placed their Bets and Bet Marker's, then the Dealer will call out “No more bets”, and then deal out the next card to the Ladder Climb Area.
- The Dealer will now once again, moving from right to left with each player, collect any losing bets and pay any winning bets in the suit/color ladder climb area according to the payout odds for that rung, and hand off all winning bets to each player's area, leaving the initial winning wager in the suit/color ladder climb area.
- The Dealer will continue to repeat these procedures until ALL the player's wagers have been eliminated from the suit/color ladder climb area or until the final TOP RUNG has been reached and all wagers have been settled
- .All bets Making it to the Top Rung Successfully are Paid off at the Top Rung odds and the original successful Bet is also returned.
Note: House Edge:
Top Rung has a house edge of approximately 4.2% for the Suit Bet (Analysis), and a 5.5% house edge for the Color bet (Analysis), this edge seems to give the game a hold comparable to other well known table games. Top Rung should be dealt from a 4 deck shoe with 50% penetration. Protection against advanced players is best assured by dealing the game from a continuous shuffler.
